If you leave your property to someone other than your natural heirs, you have a much higher chance of a will contest. A Will Contest is a fight over your property after you die. Frequently these break apart families and squander your property on court-related costs and attorneys’ fees.
Although Mr. Wald handles the occasional will contest for clients he has not represented in drafting wills, he recommends that you allow him to properly draft your will and/or trust to avoid a contest.
Wills can be contested based on allegations that you were not of sound mind when you made the will, you did not know what the nature of a will is, that you were under duress, that you were unduly influenced, or for fraud.
Don’t let a will contest tear apart your family. Let Mr. Wald work with you to avoid that. But if a will contest occurs, call him to help. He’ll be right there.
